ANSWERS

A. Pricing

  1. How is price calculated?

    • WhoopTee.com pricing is based on four components.

      1. Type - which garments are ordered.
      2. Quantity - the number of garments you order with the same design.
      3. Colors - the number of colors in your design.
      4. Locations - the amount and locations of printing on the garment.
  2. What factors affect my pricing?

    1. Type:  The brands WhoopTee carries vary in price, but we use our purchasing power to get you the best possible deal on blank apparel. We buy all over the country and do so in large quantities. Then we transfer those savings to our customers.
    2. Quantity: Our printing process dictates that if you order a greater quantity of shirts, you’ll save money. It’s simply less expensive for WhoopTee to set up and print a large number of the same design than it is to set up and print a small number of a single design.
    3. Colors: The process of screen printing requires us to make a separate screen for every color in your design. The fewer colors in your design, the less expensive producing the design becomes for us and for customers.
    4. Locations: Each printing location on a piece of apparel (i.e. front, back, sleeve, etc.) demands a specific set-up in order to execute. Therefore, multiple printing locations on your apparel will raise the price.
    5. Other factors that can affect your overall pricing include:

      • The color of shirts (see 3. How can I lower the cost of my order.)
      • Sizes 2XL and above start at $1.50 more per garment
      • Adding individual player names and numbers will increase the cost of your shirts as well.
  3. How can I lower the cost of my order?

    1. Print on white shirts: White t-shirts are the most popular for orders, so supply and demand dictates that stocking them is less expensive for WhoopTee, and therefore, also for the customer. Additionally, most cotton garments start out essentially white, so dying them any other color makes them more expensive.
    2. Use fewer design colors: The screen printing process requires us to make a separate screen for each color in your design. The less screens we have to make, the less expensive it is to print your apparel.
    3. Increase order size: The more shirts of the same design that you order, the less expensive it is for WhoopTee to produce them. Since each color and each printing location means a new screen set up; dividing this cost among many shirts rather than just one or a few means savings per unit for you.
    4. Decrease printing locations: Simply put, the fewer screens WhoopTee has to set up for one apparel order, the less expensive that apparel will be for the customer. Each printing location on a garment requires separate screen set up, so printing just on the front of a shirt versus printing on the front and back will reduce your overall cost.
  4. How Do I get a Quote?

B. Printing

  1. What types of printing does WhoopTee offer?

    • We currently offer 2 types of printing: direct-to-garment and traditional screen printing.
  2. What method of printing should I use?

    • Traditional screen printing – Generally used for orders over 6 pieces.
    • Direct-to-garment – Most often used for orders less than 6 pieces, or requests that require many different colors, where the cost to set up multiple screens for traditional printing is greater than the cost of direct-to-garment printing.
    • Both methods of printing are high quality and are backed by the WhoopTee Guarantee.
  3. What resolution should I use when uploading my design for printing?

    • If you’re using a JPEG file (aka, a standard photo-type file) to upload your art, these are the important factors to keep in mind:
    • The higher quality image, you upload the better the finished design will look.
    • Generally a 300dpi image that is saved to the size you are wanting it printed is the best.
    • If WhoopTee has to increase the size of a small design to fit the parameters of your design request, the image quality will likely decrease noticeably. For example, submitting a 300dpi image that is saved at 2”, but ordering a shirt design that sets that same 300dpi image at 12” would likely result in a blurry, pixilated graphic. It would be most effective to submit to WhoopTee an image that’s the actual size of the finished design to be screen printed onto your apparel.
  4. What is the “maximum print area” for my design?

    1. For Adult shirts our standard sizes are as follows:

      • Full Front:  12” wide; Max - 13.5” x 17”
      • Full Back:  12” wide; Max – 13.5” x 17”
      • Left or Right Breast:  4”
      • Upper Back Neck: 4”
    2. For Youth shirts our standard sizes are as follows:

      • Full Front:  9”
      • Full Back:  9”
      • Left or Right Breast:  3”
      • Upper Back Neck:  3”
  5. How do I make the print color match the color of the names/numbers on my apparel?

    • No worries here! WhoopTee stock inks match our stock vinyl names and numbers.
  6. How can I make sure my design is centered on my apparel?

    • By using WhoopTee's Alignment Tool, any object in the design can be centered. Just select the layer you need centered and press the middle button in the Alignment Tool. The object will then be mathematically centered for you.
